Dalian Aerbin striker Peter Utaka has reflected on his mission to return back to the national team set up for 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The 29-year-old prolific striker who is enjoying a new life in Chinese league after being regarded as the last goal-king in Denmark and Belgium believes he still have the ability to help goal shy Keshi's team for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
"Some people believes it is only old or retired players that play in China, I think this is a wrong impression based on the fact that there are lots of good players coming to be part of the Chinese project and they are still young and versatile at international levels," explained Utaka in an exclusive interview.
"I am still as good as I was in Europe, it is only experience am adding to my ability and the hunger to score and provide goals is still very much intact.
"I'm a proud Nigerian, whatever the situation, I love my country and I always want my country to be doing well. The Confederation Cup elimination was a big test for the team and this will enable the coach to have more options. And also will let the selected players to work harder in the future."
"Playing for Nigeria is always the first option for Nigerian players. Because you will be expose to a lot of scenes off and on the pitch. I still have a good memory of my debuts and other games have played for the team but I wish to be back and still use my experience to help the team especially for the qualifiers."
