Ideye eager to lift Eagles against Guinea

Dynamo Kiev goal poacher, Brown Ideye has tip Super Eagles of Nigeria as one of the favorite team in 2012 Nations cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, despite the uncertainty of the Nigeria team who will play their last game against Equatorial Guinea to seal the ticket.

The 22-years-old talented player was one the most consistent Nigeria player in Europe last season, not only because of his superlative performance in the French Ligue before moving to Unkraine, but his talent infront of goals is quietly unquestionable including a remarkable 15-goals last season, was just good enough for Dynamo Kiev to swoop on the promising Super Eagle.

"All eyes on us for the 2012 nations cup, it is a mandate and I believe, we will deliver by the grace of God. Speaking about his chances in the new look Super Eagles team after playing against Argentina, Ideye lauds the Nigeria Football Federations as well as the technical crew for organizing first grade friendly matches for the team.

"We can always get better. Argentina friendly was a good one for us. I am so excited playing the game but my ambition is far from the friendly only. I want to be part of the important players in the Super Eagles team as well as to help the team win the 2012 nations cup.

Obiefule reveals Arsenal dream for son

Lillestrom of Norway combative midfielder, Paul Obiefule has opened up on his recent birth of his baby boy, Elliot Ikechukwu Obiefule, revealing that he will do all his best for him to become a successful footballer in his career and probably in Arsenal FC colour.

 

Obiefule, popularly called the ‘don’, expresses satisfaction over the birth of Elliot as a boy, after Olivia Adaobi Obiefule, his first child. Obiefule has remained one of the most successful Nigerian players in Norway, not only because of his popularity, but also because of his influence on other Nigerian players who always see the talented midfielder as a brother in the country.

 

“Of course I’m happy to have a boy this time around, I thought my first child would be boy but it is God decision and I believe he knows best. It was a thrilling moment for me the day my wife gives his birth. Yeah, am a footballer that pursue education first before going into football career but my passion for football will let me encourage Elliot to go into football as the Obiefule junior.

“I’m happy to be a responsible and caring father because I have to give all my best for my children. It is my duties to ensure that they become a successful person in life. And I believe with God, they will be there.

 

When asked about the club he will like his baby boy to play for, Obiefule smiled with football passion that he will like him to don Arsenal FC of London colours.

 

“Arsenal is the best youngest squad in the World, they encourage and promote youth football. And as a fan of Arsenal, I will like him to play for Arsenal in England. “But let wait and see in the future.

Chibuike out to dazzle Rosenborg fans

In-form Nigeria born attacking midfielder John Chibuike says he's ready to give all his best to his new club Rosenborg FC of Norway after completing a three year deal.

The youngster was a successful player in Sweden with BK Hacken since his move in 2009. He has been rated as one of the best export player in the Sweden league last season following his impressive games, and his eight goals in 21 appearance for Hacken is of no doubt the quality of the talent player.

"I have come to stay, to play and to impress the fans,"Chibuike reveal exclusively.

"I thank God for the move, it is a right move for me despite some other offers but choosing to play in Norway after Sweden is a good objective for my career. I know where my games will take me to, and I believe by the grace of God, I will end up  playing in one of the biggest club in Europe after Norway.

"I understand the feeling of the fans, and I wish to give my best to them, not individually but as a team, I will help Rosenborg with the remainder of the season.

Akinsola wait for Dream Team chance

Cardiz CF of Spain winger Kabiru Akinsola has remain patience on his chances of playing for Nigeria U-23 team for the 2012 Olympic qualifiers games to be hosted in Egypt.

The lanky winger penned three year deal with La Liga new boys Granada FC but was loaned out to second division for consistent playing before he will be call back into the team next season, and the former U-17 World Cup winner is adamant of his Nigeria chances in the 2012 Olympic qualifiers.

"I know the calibers of stars in the team, But since am playing week in week out, I think I deserve an invitation to serve my father land. "It's been long I came to play for Nigeria. I am in a new club doing my best at the moment, and i will appreciate the coaches call into the team that will fight for the final ticket to London 2012 Olympic games.

John Chibuike Joins Rosenborg In Norway

After what it could be regarded as a successful season with BK Hacken in Sweden, John Chibuike has joined Norwagian club Rosenborg FC.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder joined Rosenborg FC on a three-year contract following his impressive games in the colours of BK Hacken.

Chibuike was rated as one of the finest player in the Swedish League this season after scoring a sensational 8 goals in 21 appearance before taking his trade to Norway.

"I'm very happy to be on the move again, I know the future is bright and I believe I have lot to give Rosenborg just like I did in BK Hacken. I'm very happy to be here, I know much about the league and it is almost the same like Sweden. I will be ready to produce my best form.

CHATTO VOWS TO BATTLE MIKEL, AYILA FOR DEFENSIVE ROLE

Sweden-based Nigerian defensive midfielder Dominic Chatto believes he can give compatriots — Mikel Obi and Yusuf Ayila — a run for their money in the Super Eagles if given an invite by coach Samson Siasia.

Chatto, who helped Swedish side BK Hacken, advance in the Europa Cup qualifying stage last week, said he can the break into the Eagles despite the array of stars in the defensive midfield position.

“I know there are lots of good players who play in my position in the national team but that does not mean I cannot prove myself. I think when a player is doing very well for his club, he deserves national recognition too,” Chatto, who was the 2008 Finnish Player of The Year, said.

“I am not saying I am the best for the position but I am doing my best and hope to give my all to help the national team,” he added.

The 26-year-old former Pepsi Academy player was called up for Nigeria’s U-23 squad for the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia three years ago by Siasia, who was then coach of the team, but didn’t get to play due to injury.

Again, he almost made the team to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games but was stopped by club duties but now, Chatto has vow to continue giving his best at club level till his dream of playing for Nigeria is realised.

“I won’t give up until I play for my country and I also want to ensure that I give my best at club level especially now that we are playing in the Europa Cup,” he said. 

He added that Super Eagles forward Osaze Odemwingie, who was his teammate in Pepsi Academy, had been giving him the needed encouragement on what it takes to play in the national team.

MONDAY JAMES EYES SUPER EAGLES CALL UP

Hammarby IF of Sweden centre back, Monday James is desperate to prove he has a future in the national team, and is eyeing a reunion with former U-20 coach, Samson Siasia.

The former U-20 ace who proved a lot at the junior level revealed that he's getting closer to a return to the national team, having played at the U-20 World Cup and Beijing Olympic 2008, where the team came second behind Argentina.

The Beijing Olympic star is currently at his peak form and looks certain to solve the problem of Super Eagles back four recently lamented by the coach.

"I'm working extraordinary hard to be at my best every time I'm on the pitch, and one of my aims now is to be part of the Super Eagles team. I have missed a lot in the team even in my club because of my injury and the problem I have with my former coach but I am happy to find back my happiness here.

"I will be glad to get the coach's call any day, I will like him to give me chance to play in his team, I have played under him on two three tournament, and I am happy to impress during the time, but a reunion will be perfect for me.”

However, the Bayelsa born star tasked the Super Eagles coach not to write him off for a place in his team.

"What I can do to make myself available for the national team is to keep giving my best for my club as well as to be determined with the belief that I will get there one day,” he said.
