EMENIKE wants more glory at SPARTAK

Spartak Moscow’s victory in Copa del Sol brings them first trophy since 2003, and the club talisman, Emmanuel Emenike has spoken of his joy after winning the trophy, claiming that the players are hungry of more success.

The Russian outfit overcame FC Copenhagen in Copa del Sol final to earn their first trophy in almost nine years thanks to a 33-minute goal by Argentine defender Nicolas Pareja.

The Super Eagles striker says he is proud of his achievements with Spartak, but is looking forward to realising further ambitions with Spartak as second phase of the Russian league resume next month.

“I am proud of the trophy, and happy to be part of this team and to have the opportunity to do something great together by winning the trophy for the first time in nine years but we are ready for more,” Emenike told 9jasoccerboysblog exclusively.

“One of my target for the club is to win trophies, their last trophy was in 2003 and coming here to win trophies is my priority and I thank God that the dream is coming true.

“This is just a pre-season trophy but I believe we are ready for the big one.”
“We can go all the way for the league title, if we keep the focus and nothing will stop our dream.” He concluded

The Red-and-White’s last tournament victory took place in the season 2002-2003, when they beat Rostov in the final of the Russian Cup.
