ABWO reveals undying love for RONALDO

Former Flying Eagles' star, David Abwo says he can’t just do without watching Real Madrid super star Cristiano Ronaldo making comparison that the Portuguese player is better than highly rated World super star Lionel Messi.

The speedy-winger who return to full action on Friday argued that Ronaldo is a better player than Messi without Barcelona.

It could be recalled that Abwo was part of the Nigeria U-20 team that Messi defeated in 2005 World Cup final in Holland and his argument could be regarded as vengeance to the much talked about super star but in another way he commended the Argentine wizard for making records after scoring five goals against Bayern Leverkusen.

“Messi is a good player but I like Ronaldo and I think he’s better than Messi,” said Abwo.

“I am not beefing Messi for any reason but I think Ronaldo is good and if I were to choose between the lads, I will pick Ronaldo. Why? Because he has made records in Manchester United and still making records in Madrid. That is the angle of my argument.

When asked while some Nigerian players who are age-group with Messi failed to grow since 2005 World cup, he said: “Everybody has its own time to make it big in this game, and remember our football system in Nigeria is far different from what we use to see in Europe and that is one of the reason why every player wants to be in Europe to play.

“Messi grown up in Barcelona and you cannot compare such person with somebody who came from a club rank in Nigeria, I mean Nigeria oooo and you expect such big explosion from him. It will be difficult.

“In Nigeria, we have a lot of player who can play better than Messi but they are hindered with either lack of infrastructures or playing opportunity. Messi was consistent in his club and country and that is why he’s improving everyday just like Ronaldo. But in Nigeria, if you play U-17, there is no tendency that you will wear the jersey again till you hang your boot, and how can you compare Messi growth with such person?
